The Da Vinci Code – by Dan Brown
Hello people, welcome to this space, I know it’s been so long but the corporate world does engage you mentally and physically. To be honest, I had nothing to write these days, I could not think of a topic that could help people in some way or they could relate to it. But since these days, I’m getting back to my reading habit I spend my weekends in a world of fiction. And believe me, I have time traveled, also traveled to many places through books since it is nearly impossible to do it in real these days.
So I thought of reviewing my latest read by The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown, with no spoilers.
Dan Brown is an American author, he started with the book The Digital Fortress (which is on my tbr list now). He was actually inspired by one of the Sidney Sheldon’s novel The Doomsday Conspiracy. After The Digital Fortress, Brown wrote Angels & Demons and Deception Point. Unfortunately, these books had little success at that time and were sold less than 10,000 copies in their first printing. But then Brown released his fourth novel The Da Vinci Code, which became the bestseller and now made me a fan of Dan Brown.
So coming to the book I know there are millions of reviews for
this one on the internet but please bear me with it here, if you haven't watched the movie already. The Da Vinci Code is
actually a controversial novel as the internet says it to be, and after reading
I do understand the reason. But if you can ignore it because you don't want to miss one of the best fiction ever written.
Da Vinci Code is an amazing thriller, your brain actually do
a little exercise while reading this one, it’s a quest of finding a grail which
opens the gate of history, Robert a Harward professor and Sophie a French cryptologist
have to solve some bizarre and brainy riddles to unfold the mystery and they have to do it the
correctly at once because one mistake and a timeless truth will be lost
forever.
While reading this one I realized some of the facts in this
book are actually true, which you might not know before reading it. So I advise
you while you come across some interesting facts in this book google it for more
details.
Now if we talk about the writing style it’s beautiful if you
see Dan’s book you might observe they are quite thick but believe me when you
start reading it’s difficult to stop. You practically live with characters as
for this one I felt I was with Sophie and Robert the whole time. The twists
gave me goosebumps, I did say “Whaaaaaaat”
quite a few times. It’s definitely a roller coaster ride where you are
eagerly waiting to see what happens next.
Dan can control your emotions when it comes to falling in
love with a character or hating a character. Personally, the easy names of the
character make the flow for me and in this book, it was definitely at ease.
So coming to the point am I going to recommend this book to you? If you are into brainy thrillers, mystery books then definitely you need to read this. And if you are not into brainy thrillers, then this one is perfect to explore a different genre. But this book is quite thick if you are busy and not in a habit of reading then I suggest reading another book make your flow and start this one on a weekend. Take your time with few pages and then this book will show you the magic of Fiction.
So happy reading you guys, Stay safe J
